A year after discontinuing the somewhat disastrous FineWoven iPhone case, Apple will reportedly take a second shot at a premium replacement for leather cases. The latest development is the alleged name, a new Apple accessory that may be sold separately.
TechWoven is the name of the new case material, he says Leak Majin Buubecause the FineWoven callback brings up such fond memories.
The leaker previously shared shots of the new material, which appears to have a less velvet-like softness and is more rough in texture.
As a reminder, these premium case options are alternatives to leather, which Apple abandoned a few years ago in servicing its products. Apple 2030 Carbon neutral ambitions.
But back on TechWoven, Majin Bu shares screenshots of several alleged iterations of Apple’s product lineup showing off black, brown, blue, green, and purple options.
Judging by the looks of it, Apple’s new material may be based on something like rPET (recycled polyethylene terephthalate), a fabric made from reused plastic bottles. The eco-friendly fabric reduces reliance on virgin plastic and reduces carbon emissions compared to standard polyester.
This time Majin Bu adds that the TechWoven option will include lanyard holes on either side of the bottom, like Apple’s silicone case options.

It’s also worth noting that the alleged clone packaging says “Crossbody strap compatible,” suggesting that Apple may be selling a first-party accessory that works with these cases. The crossbody strap feels more like something you wear around your torso than a wrist lanyard, although both should work.
However, these are not actual Apple phone case boxes, Majin Bu says, but references that are “always 1:1 copies of the original models.”
Is the crossbody strap real? Is it an Apple accessory or something Apple provided for Belkin or Incase? We should know soon. Apple will likely announce an iPhone 17 event next week ahead of the rumored September 9 event date.
