With the iPhone 17 launching only a few weeks away, there’s more evidence that Apple is planning a new feature for its MagSafe cases.
Majin Bu shared a video on social media of someone handling what he calls a “liquid silicone” case on a fake iPhone 17 unit.
For context, Liquid Glass is what Apple calls the transparent visuals of the new design language coming to iOS 26. Nothing in the video explains the name “Liquid Silicone,” but it does show a design change that was recently rumored.
Earlier this month, two different leakers shared evidence that Apple would add support for tethering to Apple’s iPhone 17 cases.
The new video shows what appears to be a standard silicone iPhone case that could fit the current iPhone 16 design, except it has two slots on either side of the bottom edge where a lanyard strap can be attached.
This is similar to the lanyard attachment slot that Apple has built into AirPods Pro 2 issue.
Third party cases Sometimes featuring embedded arrows or bars Which makes using your iPhone as a camera easier, especially if you’re prone to dropping your iPhone while filming.
In the case of Apple, the company does not sell its own products Rope attachments For AirPods Pro. Instead, Apple relies on Incase and others. We’ll see if that’s the case with the iPhone 17 MagSafe range of cases as well.
