iOS 26 Beta 4 changes

iOS 26 beta 4 is now available for iPhone in the developer beta cycle. Below we collect all the changes of iOS 26 beta 4 compared to the previous version.

iOS 26 Beta 4 changes

First, we know there are some design changes coming in macOS Tahoe 26. These include a redesigned Music app that now mirrors the look of the Podcasts app. Specifically, the sidebar now interacts with the content below it instead of being a separate part of the window.

Notifications on Mac have also been redesigned to reflect the new look from iOS 26.

Both changes came to light on Monday when Apple mistakenly sent the (yet-unreleased) public beta of macOS Tahoe 26 through the wrong beta channel. macOS Tahoe 26 beta 4 was first published on Apple’s developer portal before arriving in the over-the-air update method.

As for iOS 26 and iPadOS 26, early results show that Liquid Glass is back in the toolbars where it was more frozen in Beta 3.

The Camera app now has an informative splash screen about the redesign:

The phone now has updated settings about silencing unknown callers and managing the new call screening feature.

Apple also added dynamic wallpaper color option to iOS 26/iPadOS 26 in beta 4. The previous beta had introduced new color options.

After pausing news and entertainment notification summaries, Apple is re-enabling the feature in iOS 26 as part of Beta 4. More info here.

The camera app icon now has much less of the inner black framed elements and more of the camera sensor. It now looks more like an ultra-wide camera sensor than a wide or telephoto lens.

CarPlay now has color options for the new iOS 26 wallpaper design. Many existing options have been removed.

Back on Mac, there is an image shuffling option offered for wallpapers.

iOS 26 beta 4 makes the Lock screen background darker when notifications are present to improve clarity and increase contrast.
