Seven tech accessories I keep coming back to (video)

I’ve tested a lot of gear over the years, from laptops to smart rings to random tech accessories that get buried in drawers. But out of all of that, there are only a few items that I keep reaching for again and again. There’s no way you can go crazy with the type of accessory, just know that it works. These are non-Apple technology products that I rely on every day.

Be sure to check out the hands-on video below!

This is my longest lasting product and the one that sparked this idea. I’ve tried many different mice for Mac and iPad, and I keep coming back to the Logitech Anywhere Mouse. The version I have is the 2S version that I bought back in 2018. So, I’ve been using this mouse daily for over seven years, and it’s still going strong. Since 2018, they have released the 3S version, but the main difference is that the new version charges via USB-C, and has twice the DPI, starting from 4000 to 8000 for better resolution. But I’ve never been in a situation where my 2S is inaccurate.

Anywhere 2S is still running Selling for under $50and The 3S is just under $80. Both great options will last you ten years (if not more). Both can connect to three different devices simultaneously and last up to 6 months on a charge.

I use my iPhone for video and photography. Although the iPhone 16 Pro Max’s video is great on its own, I wanted to upgrade the camera a bit without actually getting a new camera. So I bought myself a 60mm telephoto lens to help with the natural blur, and man, I was impressed. Go ahead and watch some of our recent videos, and you can see how much the background has blurred for me as a subject.

They don’t just make lenses; They also make a lot of other video equipment for your iPhone, From MagSafe light accessories, camera grips, mounting gear and more. If you need to level up your iPhone photography, this is the way to go.

Nomad is known for making some amazing, high-quality accessories: from their slim charging series, to Horween leather, and even their beloved Apple Watch bands. Earlier this year, they launched their universal cable with a built-in Apple Watch charger. I’ll be honest, at first I thought it was a bit over the top. But now, this is the thing I never leave home without when it comes to on-the-go charging. You get:

  • 100W USB-C PD cable
  • Fast charger for Apple Watch
  • Kevlar reinforcement
  • Electroplated metal connectors
  • Length 1.5 metres
  • Integrated cable tie
  • USB 2.0 data transfer speeds

It’s high quality, simple, precise, and smartly graphic. So it knows which direction to charge depending on which device needs power from the post.

This product deserves its own full review, but I wanted to mention it briefly here. I love playing with my health and tracking my health data. I’ve always been intrigued by the circular form factor versus a watch, especially when it comes to sleep tracking. I love the Apple Watch Ultra, but it’s a bit bulky for sleeping. So the UltraHuman Loop has really stepped in as a tracker of my overall health. I use it for daily tracking of wellness and sleep and also for running. The best part is that there is no subscription plan. So, a one-time purchase of $349 And you are good to go. The app also has all the data and metrics you want from sleep score to caffeine windows and more.

Let me know if you’d like a more in-depth review of this episode because I can’t recommend it enough!

One of our favorite charging accessory brands has released a 3-in-1 charger that seems to defy physics. On the surface it may look like a typical Qi2 3-in-1 charger but this thing is insanely thin and compact. I measure less than 4mm at the thinnest point!

  • Qi2 wireless charging for 15W charging
  • 5W AirPods Charging Dock
  • Fast charger for Apple Watch
  • 45W charging brick in the box

I just love how slim this charger is, and for the price, it belongs in your everyday bag!

SSD storage

When it comes to storage, I always seem to come back to two different options. I have a Lexar SL500 and a Samsung T9. Both are great storage options at relatively the same price, depending on the storage sizes. Both have a capacity of 4TB and have a read and write speed of 2000MB/s. I’ve used it daily for over a year, and it’s been the most reliable SSD option I’ve ever used. I’ve lost data due to cheap SSD drives in the past, and having peace of mind is key when using a storage solution.

You can get Samsung T9 for less than $130 For the 1TB and L versionExar SL500 for less than $115 for 1TB!

Final thoughts

None of these products are flashy. They are reliable, practical and built to last. That’s why they’ve earned a place in my daily tech setup. Whether you’re editing video, charging on the go, or tracking sleep without subscriptions, these tech items will be perfect to add to anyone’s tech toolkit. If you have your own basic technique, I’d love to hear about it.
