Apple trade-in values have been reduced for most iPhone models, all Macs, many Apple Watches, and one iPad.
Additionally, there are two older Apple products that the company will no longer accept as a trade-in for a new product, making them officially worthless.
Although Apple trade-ins represent poor value compared to selling privately or using third-party resellers, some people prefer the ease and convenience of taking their old device to an Apple Store when purchasing a new one.
MacRumors I published comparison tables of old and new values, and although the differences are relatively small, all of last year’s iPhone models are now worth less than they were:
- iPhone 15 Pro Max: $600 (from $630)
- iPhone 15 Pro: $480 (from $500)
- iPhone 15 Plus: $430 (from $440)
- iPhone 15: $380 (from $400)
Note that all values are maximum Apple will compensate, based on a fully functional device in good cosmetic condition.
Many older iPhones have also had their trade-in value reduced, along with the iPad Air, Apple Watch Ultra (both 1 and 2), and Apple Watch Series 5. everyone Macs are now worth less, with Mac Studio taking the biggest hit – down from $1,140 to $990.
There’s a bit of good news in the mix, as the iPhone 14 Pro Max and base iPad model are now worth a little more.
Two products are no longer replaceable: the 12-inch MacBook and the Apple Watch Series 4.
